IN THE BEGINNING

In the beginning, I see each of my art projects made of steel in its industrial forms that are offered for sale. Sometimes “raw”, with less intervention in the surface, sometimes technologically processed. The plastic qualities of steel allow me to freely handle both soft, organic lines and stricter geometric shapes.

“In the beginning” is a completely new cycle, a new direction in my work. The works included in the project are sculptural objects that form the space and are organized in a different way. The conceptual inspiration came at the sight of a pile of tangled iron sticks, which in themselves contained a lot of power and presence. Subsequently, I myself began to wrap rods and various wires, to have the effect of “looking like always been like this”. The cycle presents the tangle of arbitrary lines as an accent and center, as an archetype, mastered by the geometric shapes of the canvas, the metal frame or the sphere and the cube.

The use of a wide range of materials and techniques for the realization of the works is a
deliberate risk that I took as a challenge to myself, proving that “tangled iron” can live in
harmony with many other materials. The works are executed in various techniques, mainly
mixed, and the materials used are: brass, ceramics, glass, paper, stone.
